General Race Info

Here is the link to the Race Briefing we hosted last night. The Passcode is QK%#e6.Z

Thank you for your interest in our race and we hope you have a great experience with us. Below is a list in no particular order of some items we consider important to the overall success of your race. Please take few minutes to review – thank you.

Marathon Cut off will be 6 hours. At 2.00pm support and volunteers will be withdrawn from the course and all remaining runners must be self-sufficient.

No early start – all marathon and relay teams will start at 8.00am

All races are point to point.

KVMarathon Race Route

Run Etiquette – please run on the right hand side of the road (unless otherwise directed) and on the gravel verge where possible. Do not run 2 or 3 abreast as you will be a hazard to traffic.

Headphones – of any description are not permitted. You must be able to hear instructions from volunteers and RCMP at all times. Failure to comply will result in a DQ.

Parking – As the Marathon and Half are point to point races you will need to provide your own transport from the start line to the finish line. Parking will be available at the finish line in the Bill Maguire Centre – 95 James Renforth Drive. Runners who park at the Marathon start line or Half Marathon start line will be responsible for collecting their cars at the end of the race.

Shuttle Buses – there will be no shuttle bus service this year due to the Coronavirus.

Weather: With all of our events taking place outdoors, the weather conditions can play a big factor in every race. A large portion of the race fees collected have already been allocated and used by race day and as such there will be no refunds because of a weather cancellation. Registered participants will still receive their T-shirt and race kit. Thank you for your understanding these policies.

Race registration – available through Race Roster or Running Room plus in person at any Running Room store in NB. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION FOR ANY EVENT.

Bag Drop – no bag drop will be available in 2020 due to the Coronavirus.

Aid Stations – for 2020 we ask that you try to be as self sufficient as possible. Please carry fuel (drinks and food) with you. You can hand off 2 of your pre-filled bottles to us at race registration in Bloomfield. We will have 2 aid stations set up where you will have access to these bottles. These will be located at the half way point at the old Leisure Time facility on Route 100 and at the end of Gondola Point Road adjacent to the ferry.

Aid Stations Important Note – we will be providing water in 18 litre bottles for our aid stations but in order to help the environment we will not be providing disposable cups or bottles for any of our events this year. We ask athletes to bring your own refillable and reusable bottles and carry them with you on the run. Thank you

Deferrals – you can defer to the 2021 KVMarathon by clicking on the link in Race Roster. Under NO circumstances can you give your bib to another runner without the express consent of the Race Director (Garth Millar – garth39@fastmail.fm). Running with another runners bib will result in a DQ for both athletes. This is a medical safety issue.

Race Results – all results will be based on Gun Time.

Cancellation – Registration fees are non-refundable & non-transferable. If a situation should arise where we are unable to host the race as planned due to an unforseeable situation we may have to declare a state of Force Majure.

Dogs – For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on the race course.

Strollers – For safety reasons, strollers are not permitted on the race course.

Medical – we will have mobile medical personnel on the course and at the finish line.
